Mell Matthews PgCertSART, BSc(Hons), MCSP, HCPC, MIRVAP
Mell is a Chartered Physiotherapist and a small animal Veterinary Physiotherapist specialising in canine agility, rehabilitation and advanced hydrotherapy. She believes that every dog deserves the best therapy and promotes this animal centred practice in her clinics at K9HS and in her own mobile service “Dogworks”.Barbara and Mell share a passion for the athletic dog and a pro-active approach of body conditioning and canine performance enhancement work.
Mell’s extensive career journey to date includes her post graduate Certificate (PGCert) in small animal rehabilitation awarded with distinction by Nottingham University. This combined to her human physiotherapy degree and sports and exercise science degree shows a real commitment to progressing and advancing her canine career.
She finds working in the small animal industry massively rewarding and is always discussing and pushing forward to do mor and more for the dogs in her care.
She is an assistant lecturer working with Barbara on both the Level 5 Diploma and the Level 3 Certificate in hydrotherapy for small animals at K9HS. As a member of the Institute of Registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP)and a member of the HCPC (health professions council) she promotes the animal centred and owner focused approach the whole of K9HS team embraces and teaches.
Mell’s family life is about her wonderful pack of five dogs and agility and if she has a spare moment she enjoys pilates and camping with her human and dog family.
